Passport to Care

Passport to Care is a programme we are running in partnership with another local charity, Snow Angels, and is funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council as part of the Government’s ‘Levelling Up’ scheme.

The Passport to Care programme offers volunteering experiences with older people and carers. This may take place in community settings, in older people’s homes and / or via telephone.

The Passport to Care programme also offers a series of training opportunities which will promote work in the care sector and / or provide valuable skills and experience for those wishing to pursue a career in the wider health and social care sector.

Aim of the Programme

The Passport to Care programme will support vulnerable communities in Cheshire West and Chester by:

  • offering a structured volunteering programme, providing volunteers with skills and knowledge which could lead to a career in the care sector .
  • having a positive impact on the wellbeing of older people and their access to health and social care services, providing practical help and support and reducing social isolation and loneliness

It supports the sustainability of local VCS organisations who will deliver training where relevant.

Volunteer Target Audience

  • School leavers and working age unemployed who may be considering a career in the care sector .
  • Undergraduates in health and social care requiring work experience to enhance their CV
  • Sixth formers / college students wishing to gain experience and enhance UCAS applications for relevant courses.
