Volunteers are a vital part of the work we do. We’re always looking for new people to join our friendly team of over 200 volunteers.
I’ve not volunteered before? No experience is necessary, we care a lot more about a smile and a desire to help others.
How much time do I have to give? Our volunteers offer their time and energy on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis from any time between 1-4hrs. It’s important it fits around you so we’re happy to see you whenever you can. If you can’t commit to volunteering on a regular basis, perhaps you could support us occasionally by helping out at one of our events or fundraisers?

ROLE : OPAL Club Volunteers
LOCATION : Tarporley, Malpas, Tattenhall, Frodsham, Helsby and Kelsall
Are you a people person? Got the drive? Or love to cook?
Our successful OPAL clubs run on different days throughout the week with a hot lunch, games, quizzes and other fun activities. We are looking for new volunteer helpers, drivers and cooks to join our friendly teams
ROLE : OPAL GoOnLine/OPAL in Touch
LOCATION: All over west Cheshire West
Are you tech savvy?
Our GoOnLine and OPAL in Touch volunteers have experience of tablets and other online devices and are interested in supporting older people who would like help to learn the basics and to see what opportunities a computer can give them.
ROLE: OPAL Good Neighbour+
Location: All over west Cheshire West
Our Good Neighbour+ volunteers pop in and have a chat with one of our members in their own home. This would suit you if you’re able to give some time to provide an elderly person some company on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
ROLE: OPAL Telephone Friends
Location: From home
Enjoy chatting on the phone?
Telephone Friends are looking for new volunteers to make friendly telephone calls to our members once a week. We match our Telephone Friends volunteers with one of our members for a short weekly telephone call.
