Our Funding

OPAL is a small registered charity whose funding is increasingly from sources other than the local Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) or Health, whose available resources have reduced over the years. Currently the Council provides funding via contracts with OPAL for the provision of our carer support services and services  normally delivered  via the OPAL Clubs.  In order to successfully run the range of services we in OPAL offers we are constantly seeking out other sources of funding.

2020 has been a very challenging year and we have been deeply grateful to benefit from significant grants awarded by INEOS for the recruitment, development and coordination of our volunteers; the Marshes Community Benefit Fund to maintain our OPAL Branching Out service in the Helsby and Frodsham area and also the Big Lottery Community Fund which has made a significant contribution to the cost of running OPAL GoOnLine in 2020.

Other supporters have contributed in equally valuable ways and we are deeply grateful to them all. Their contributions have enabled us to adapt amid the pandemic and continue to support our older people at a time when they need our support the most.
