We have an extremely active Fundraising Team made up of volunteers, staff, and trustees, and led by Trustee Juliet Compston.
The Fundraising Team plans a variety of events throughout the year to help fund OPALs services. It can be challenging work but is hugely rewarding and a fantastic way to come together as a team, meet new people and raise vital extra funds for our charity.
The money raised makes an enormous difference in allowing us to maintain services and invest in the things that improve the quality and range of services we offer at OPAL.
Over the past year we have held many successful events both large and small, with great support from our volunteers, members, and their families.
A summary of just some of these events are shown below…..
Our popular OPAL Soup Lunch has been held at several venues around the area in which we operate giving the opportunity for people across our services to enjoy a social lunch together.
In May last year, OPAL were invited to cater afternoon teas at Manley Knoll’s National Garden Scheme Open Gardens Day. This was a lovely day out for hundreds of people who attended, and OPAL volunteers produced some fabulous cakes for us to sell. We raised just under £4000 which was an amazing amount and a huge boost to our fundraising efforts!
In September last year, we hosted OPALs Charity Dinner and Quiz at Eaton Courtyard. With kind permission from The Duke of Westminster, this was well attended and enjoyed evening raising just over £2500 for OPAL Services.
OPAL ran their annual stall at HoHo Helsby’s Christmas event, always a fun and enjoyable event within the Helsby community!
More recently in June 2023, one of our kind OPAL volunteers hosted a lovely Midsummer Soiree event in her stunning gardens. The weather was beautiful and made the most of this amazing setting raising over £1100 for OPAL Services.
During our last financial year, our fundraising team raised a fantastic sum of £9,000 through various fundraising events.
