Fundraising

We have an extremely active Fundraising Team made up of volunteers, staff, and trustees, and led by Trustee Juliet Compston.

The Fundraising Team plans a variety of events throughout the year to help fund OPALs services. It can be challenging work but is hugely rewarding and a fantastic way to come together as a team, meet new people and raise vital extra funds for our charity.

The money raised makes an enormous difference in allowing us to maintain services and invest in the things that improve the quality and range of services we offer  at OPAL.

Over the past year we have held  many successful events both large and small, with great support from our volunteers, members, and their families.

A look back on a year of fundraising from Juliet (Fundraising lead)

“In June this year we held yet another very successful Summer Soiree event by kind permission of the Lord Lieutenant in Lady Redmond’s lovely gardens at Tirley Garth. This event was very well supported and raised just over £1600 and guests enjoyed strolling around the gardens and refreshments provided by our wonderful volunteers. 

We ran an extremely successful online auction with many lovely prizes that were donated which raised £1575. 

In October we held a Fashion Show with clothes from erj Boutique from Hoole which was held in the Glasshouse at Abbeywood.  This event was a sell-out and was kindly sponsored by Flock Inns which enabled us to raise £4400, which was an excellent result. 

In November this year we held our annual OPAL Christmas Fair at Tarvin Community Centre where a delicious afternoon tea was served alongside lovely stalls where guests were able to start their Christmas shopping.  This was yet another successful fundraiser for OPAL and raised just over £1400″
