There has been great enthusiasm among OPAL members for the Coronation with everyone keen to be involved. The OPAL Clubs have had special in house events to celebrate.

Club members decorated keepsake plaques and enjoyed themed quizzes, royal bingo and flag bingo, the ‘royal family’ served lunch at Frodsham Club! We also enjoyed special refreshments, prizes and a raffle.
At Kelsall Club there was a coffee morning on ‘Big Help Out’ Monday which was combined with a Bring and Buy sale. It was well supported by volunteers and local residents and raised nearly £300 for Kelsall OPAL Club which is just fantastic.
OPAL Carer Support and OPAL Branching Out (Frodsham) had a Coronation tea for the members on 2 May at Sandiway and Cuddington Village Hall.
The ‘Farndon Foodies’ joined together for an early celebration, donning patriotic party hats and glasses and enjoying a feast of traditional British sandwiches, scones and cakes, all of course fit for a King! A little glass of bubbles was raised to wish the new King the very best of luck on his journey ahead and there was a moment’s reflection to remember his mother, Queen Elizabeth II and her contribution to our country.
Eileen Blackwood, one of our regular members emailed us to say: “Amazing morning, thanks to you and all the ladies”.
What wonderful feedback to be able to share with our volunteers who give their time so generously and as a bonus can also cook delicious food!
