During the coronavirus crisis, OPAL has introduced a brand new, telephone based service that mean we can keep in touch while meeting national guidance on social distancing. This has been a great success in keeping both our members and volunteers safe while keeping in touch in these uncertain times.
Telephone befriending service:
Through the pandemic, our OPAL volunteers are providing over 200 regular telephone calls a week from our befriending service. Once a week Members cannot to receive a friendly telephone call from one of our volunteers. All volunteer telephone befrienders are known to OPAL and will take time to listen.
